Job Summary
The Senior Engineer, Cloud Services acts as the technical expert within the Cloud Services Team, responsible for operations, infrastructure improvements and supporting the architectural goals. They are expected to take ownership of major cloud-based projects and guide others in the team.
Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Architects on the private and public cloud designs to ensure they are scalable, secure, and cost-efficient
- Lead the diagnosis and resolution of complex private and public cloud issues, including networking, security, storage and performance concerns
- Serve as a technical mentor to Cloud Services Engineers and Administrators, providing guidance on best practices and technical problem solving
- Collaborate with Project Services during customer onboarding to ensure a positive customer experience
- Use approved policy and process guidance to provide standardized customer deployments
- Perform or direct Cloud Services maintenance as required
- Recommend changes to Cloud Services infrastructure policy and guidance
- Recommend changes to the configuration and optimization of customer environments
- Create and use automated processes to ensure standardized customer deployments
- Provide technical communications and documentation related to Cloud Services configuration and changes
Job Qualifications
Education/Certification Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, related field, or equivalent relevant experience
- One or more relevant cloud platform certifications
- VMWare Certified Professional – Data Center Virtualization
- Azure Administrator Associate Certification
- Nutanix Certified Professional
- Current CCNA certification, or comparable enterprise network platform certification
Experience Requirements:
- 5+ years hands-on experience managing private cloud environments
- Experience designing, deploying, maintaining private cloud infrastructure at scale
- 5+ years practical experience with Cisco, or comparable enterprise network solutions
- 5+ years’ experience with VMWare vSphere or comparable platforms
- 5+ years’ experience with SAN, NAS, or object storage
- Familiarity with public cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), or equivalent platform
- Experience with Storage Virtualization
- Practical PowerShell scripting experience
